Orton Adds New Thermal Analysis Capability:
Thermal Diffusivity, Thermal Conductivity & Specific Heat

Westerville, Ohio - December 22, 2009: The Edward Orton Jr. Ceramic Foundation now offers the thermal analysis capability to determine thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity by laser flash (ASTM E 1461) and specific heat capacity by differential scanning calorimeter (ASTM E 1269) with the same fast turnaround times you have come to expect from Orton. Thermal analysis of metals, ceramics, carbon, graphite, polymers, glasses, refractories, semiconductors, composites, and natural materials can be conducted from room temperature to 1600°C in air, vacuum, or inert gases.

The Standard Pyrometric Cone Company was established in 1896 by Dr. Edward Orton Jr., the first Chairman of the Ceramic Engineering Department at The Ohio State University.
