Pyrometric Cones

Orton Pyrometric Cones allow an easy method to monitor the heatwork inside kilns.  Pyrometric Cones are a good visual indicator of industrial thermal processes.  Placing cones throughout the kiln allows you to determine the kiln's uniformity.  Slight changes in a kilns time/temperature profile can be detected by the cones and allow users to make adjustments before they impact product quality.

Each new batch of pyrometric cones are standardized to match our standards dating back as far as 1890.  Orton Manufactures over 80 different compositions. Unlike shrinakge devices, Each Cone number measures a narrow band of temperatures.  Pyrometric cones are a precise way to confirm your thermal process is the same, or, if something is changing inside your kiln.
