Testing Methods
Orton is a full service independent testing laboratory that specializes in measuring the behavior of refractory ceramic materials. Physical, thermal, and mechanical property measurements are available for performing product development, quality control and failure analysis. Consulting services on refractory and other ceramic materials are also available. Orton also works closely with other organizations for testing and consulting services not available in its laboratories. The Center is staffed with engineers and technicians who understand and are responsive to the needs of its customers. Standardized procedures are employed on calibrated equipment. New and existing tests, in conjunction with the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), are continually under development. Mail Samples to:
