The Orton International Cone Box Show

The Orton International Cone Box Show was started by William Bracker in the early 1970′s. The original idea was to encourage and promote creativity and excellence in the ceramic community. The Standard Orton Cone Box was chosen as the size limitation for the show. All entries had to fit into the interior space of a 3" x 3" x 6" cone box (76.4mm x 76.4mm x 152.8mm).

During the seventies the show was held at Purdue University (1975) and The University of Kansas (1977 & 1979). It was Bill’s wish to make the exhibition an international event.  The first international show was held in 1994 and has since been held biennially.  Since 1994, It has been coordinated by Professor Inge Balch of Baker University in Baldwin City, KS USA.
