Orton Ceramic Announces 7 New Course Offerings

In response to industry demand, Orton is offering a series of new short courses dealing with refractories and glass. The first new course to be offered is "Advanced Thermal Properties of Refractories,” to be held on October 29 and 30, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to the above advanced course, there will be two other advanced courses, three technician training courses, and a new introduction to glass course offered in the future.


The tentative course schedule with dates is shown below:


Technician Training – Thermal Properties of Refractories (March 2019)

Advanced Mechanical Properties of Refractories (June 2019)

Technician Training – Mechanical Properties of Refractories (October 2019)

Technician Training – Physical Properties of Refractories (March 2020)

Introduction to Glass (March 2020)

Introduction to Refractories (June 2020)

Technician Training – Thermal Properties of Refractories (March 2021)

Advanced Corrosion Behavior of Refractories (June 2021)

Technician Training – Mechanical Properties of Refractories (October 2021)


Each course combines both classroom and practical lab experience.

Orton will provide certificates for students completing a combination of three advanced courses or three training courses plus one introductory course.
